If your out there tonight, or if you were wondering what was that “bright star” next to the moon last night, here is your answer.
It was a very close pairing or conjuction of the moon and Jupiter. A very close one.
Check out this composite image I did tonight to show both. Because of the different intensity of light of Jupiter and its moons, and the moon we all know, I had to take two separate exposures and combine them to make one that you can actually see the conjuction.
