Fall is my favorite time of the year. The colors are bright, and the air is clear and crisp. Each autumn I try to find a different location to shoot some foliage pictures. This year was no exception as I discovered East Rock Park in New Haven. Ever drive down I-91 and see the sheer cliffs off to the right with a monument on top just before you reach New Haven? That’s East Rock Park. After a short drive up to the top I was rewarded with a wonderful view of New Haven, Long Island Sound, and even Long Island itself. Granted, it was a perfectly clear day, but it would be a great view no matter how clear it is, except for being fogged in.
The Leaf peeping from up there was fantastic, and out of a collage of colors were these house peaks in the north end of New Haven. They made a nice contrast to the trees all around them. If you ever get a chance take a drive up to East Rock Park, You will be happily rewarded.
