Even though the participants in this 7th annual flotilla of showboats on Lake Pocotopaug were fewer than in past years, it was still wonderful afternoon by the lake in East Hampton, Connecticut.
Hundreds of spectators surrounded the lake to view the aquatic festival, not counting the scores of boats following the parade. Here is some of what they saw!
Here are images of previous years!
The Lobster Pot boat, with Lobsters on the loose! Did you ever see a cigar smoking lobster?
The “Knotty Gurl” with the Captain is blowing his own horn.
The “Mardi Gras” boat.
The “Boar’s Nest” boat. A little of everything. Race cars that fly in the air, a crashed police car in the rear, hub caps, beer, a man dressed up as a woman, and music. What else do you need?. It was neat, and a big crowd pleaser!
A James Bond style jet boat which includes a Bond Girl too!
It was wonderful to see the little ones get involved in the “Black Scurvy Dog” boat.
Bringing up the rear is the “Bar Boat”. How do those bottles stay upright on the water?
Congrats to all the participants and organizers on another great parade!
Ok… I watched entirely too much TV as a child….
The “Boars Nest” boat is all about the Dukes of Hazzard.
It looks more like Uncle Jesse than Daisy Duke in your picture….
