After a dissapointing night Saturday night trying to get a 21 hour moon, I went out again Sunday night to capture a 5% moon. This time I was in Marlborough, Connecticut, geared up again to do battle to try to find Luna. It was nice and clear until about a half an hour after sunset. Then a major cloud bank started moving in from the northwest. I immediately went into a "clear … [Read more...]

Looking for the moon, found the sun
I was on a quest tonght to see if I could locate a 21 hour moon in the west just after sunset. Everything was ready, my camera with a 800mm lens, a set of bino's, and a great view of the horizon from a hill top in Hebron, Ct. The only thing working against me was a cloud bank that moved in just before sunset. I moved to a different location to get a better view of the possible … [Read more...]
At 30,000 feet, James Bond’s playground revealed
When I fly always try to get a window seat, because you never know what your going to see. Over the years from my always small aerial armchair, I have photographed many cloud formations, cities, other planes, astronomical/meteorlogical events, and now, James Bond's island playground. CtCameraEye followers ask...The "Eye" delivers! CtCameraEye followers went a little bit "out of this world" when I posted the pictures that I took of the new Orion Crew Vehicle mockup unvailed on the Mall in Washington, DC. Spacecraft lands at the National Mall
After photographing the Cherry Blossoms around Washington DC Monday, I decided to take a walk to my favorite museum, the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. As I was proceeding down the National Mall I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a spacecraft sitting on the edge of the mall a few hundred yards away. As I got closer I did indeed see a spacecraft. The brand new … [Read more...]
