Ah, come on, don’t give up yet! Think…..Hmmm. It’s winter. You like to do outdoor activities. Maybe some photography? How about astrophotography? How about just using your computer. How about trying to save some money? Ok. Enough clues. “What does a baked potato and a USB port have in common?” Ways to stay warm. Yup! No, I have not fallen off my telescope tripod and hit my head. Honest, here are several ways of staying warm you might not have heard of.
Choose a good size potato that you would enjoy eating, lets say with a nice juicy steak. Cook it to perfection in your oven or microwave. Double or triple wrap the treat in aluminum foil. Do all of this just before you are planning to go out. Put it in your jacket pocket, and rotate it around to other pockets to keep you nice and warm. Honest. It works great, and you will be surprised how long it will help you stay comfortable. Oh, one more thing. After you cook it, and before you wrap it up, cut it in half and add your favorite spices to it. Butter, or cheese is not reccommended. It will sure turn out to be one of the best snacks you will ever have after a few hours of being outdoors! Now how about that steak……….
Are you kidding me CtCameraEye? USB port gloves? You have been eating to many spuds! No, no my starch loving reader. I was blown away as much as you were when I found these USB mittens. Specially made to wear and expose your fingers when you use your computer, it is designed to plug into your USB port. Put on the mittens and your all set. Whether your trying to save money on heat in your house, or your keeping yourself warm doing some image processing outside by the telescope, these fit the bill. Oh, they also make coffee cup warmers for the USB port. Want more info? Just Google USB gloves, warmers, or accessories.
For the astrophotographer these can be better than a Ginsu knife in winter. Hey, I can sure use a knife to cut my potato……Clear, and warm, skies!
