A fire burned through 118 storage units in a self-storage facility at 990 Meriden Road in the Waterbury Wednesday February 18th.
The fire started around 12:15 p.m. and was still burning as of 5:45 p.m.
Wednesday afternoon, firefighters brought in an excavator to tear down the outside of the building so they could access the interior portions that were still on fire. The fire was still burning a day later.
I was coming back from Bridgeport from an assignment when I saw heavy smoke as I made my way from route 8 onto route 84. I chased down the scene and got some great pictures.
