The Madison Land Conservation Trust, along with the Madison Beach and Recreation Department, hosted their 14th annual Madison Autumn Moonwalk again this year at the Madison Surf Club. As usual Durant McCurley played his bagpipes for the walkers as they hiked along the Garvan Trail for about an hour. After the walk several hundred people lined up at 6 telescopes, and one set of large binoculars on the Surf Club’s wooden deck to view the moon, Jupiter, Venus, and several other deep space objects.

Middle: Laurie Mazur’s Big Binoculars were the hit of the night as hundreds of people looked through her bino’s and telescopes at the Madison Surf Club.
Bottom: Greg Barker projects the moon from his telescope on to a piece of paper so multiple people can see it all at once.
