The first day of August here in Connecticut brought some severe summer weather to the state today, giving me an opportunity to capture some nice cloud images.
This first one was on I-91 north coming into Hartford this afternoon. A nice vertically rising Cumulus cloud with the city in the foreground.
The next set is from Marlborough, Connecticut at about 5:00pm, just before a thunderstorm hit the area. Ever seen these clouds formations before? They are called Mammatus Clouds and are associated with severe thunderstorm activity. They lasted only for a few minutes before the rain started.
